Asterix Explains Second Grade

The question was something along the lines of “What did you like/dislike about second grade/?”

What I feel about 2nd grade (Hmm, I forgot to remind him to capitalize the title….)

What I feel about second grade is that it is fun and you learn new things. One thing I really like is science because it is fun and it helps you learn too. Things that I don’t like about 2nd grade is the cheating, like someone is looking at your work and copying you. Also, I hate when people lie in second grade, like you have a silk worm and someone steals it and exchanges it for a smaller silk worm, and when your back, you want your silk worm and they lie that they didn’t steal it. That’s what I feel about second grade.

So now you know what second grade is like.

  1. And that’s really what it all comes down to, isn’t it. Damn silk worm stealers!

  2. Sounds like a great reality show — Second Grade: Liars, Cheaters, and Thieves.

  3. So much is being learned beneath the curriculum. I am glad to hear it is fun, though, despite the lying, cheating and stealing.

  4. Second grade is nothing like I remember.

  5. *whines* they got to raise silkworms?? That’s not fair, I want to raise silkworms, I asked and asked and you said, “sometime, like when you make good grades, and I made good grades, and you said, no, and he gets to do that just because he’s Asterix. I hate my life!

  6. Yes, they had silkworms in the classroom, and the box had little sections for each child with his or her worms. The last time I saw them, they were out of the cocoons in their moth form and stuck together in pairs…. I asked what the moths were doing, and he said they were laying eggs. Well, some already were, but most were working on their eggs, so to speak.

  7. Oh, the drama!

  8. Wow. I think the most I ever had in second grade was a fruit fly that died.

  9. My daughter was the “lucky one” that got to keep the silk worm cocoons! The teacher told her to take them home and put them in the freezer and in the spring, she was to take them out and thaw them. I hated looking at those cocoons in the freezer every time I opened it up. They thawed but never came to life. My daughter was heart broken.

  10. I hate it when someone steals my silk worm!
